Hello everyone
We’ve certainly got some fantastic students joining in
our rap!! Your introductory messages have been
imaginative and creative varying from the Wauchope
5/6NA rap to the ballad of Quaker’s Hill students.
Congratulations - anyone want to try their hand at a
sea shanty?
Over the last week, most groups would have been busy
navigating around the online exhibition at The State
Library site searching for interesting titbits about
Flinders. We hope you’re not having too much
difficulty. Perhaps your teacher has suggested the use
of the “Find on this page” command under the File menu
in your browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer). The
short cut on a PC is Control F and on an Apple it’s
Command F. Just type in a keyword that will assist
with your search and then read around the information
that appears near the keyword on that page. It may be
just what you need to direct you to specific
information. Your teacher might also suggest some
other options to help you navigate around the sites.
We’re all waiting excitedly for your questions to be
proposed on email so that we can all see how much our
knowledge about Flinders has grown. Then we can “suss
out” the answers ourselves. Keep your questions coming
in. Please don’t feel overwhelmed if they aren’t live
yet. Just keep plodding.
Already we seem a little behind our initial plan, so
Rap Point 2 will be launched later this week. Use the
time after posing your questions to the rap to
brainstorm your information about Flinders and begin
selecting, organising and designing it into a
timeline. As a group, brainstorm what you all know and
start arranging it into chronological order. Devise an
ingenious way to present your knowledge. We’d love to
see your efforts – but more on that later!
