Dear rappers,
Here are our comments on Rap Point 2 - finally! We
have some groups working on Rap Point 3 so hopefully
we can send some questions to Trim next week.
Rap Point 2a: What did you find were the best source/s
of information for your biographies? Why?
The best source of information was the timeline on the
State Library Flinders website because we could read
it easily and take notes.
Some kids in our class found one source that had a
paragraph that was incorrect! The book was "Explorers
of Australia" by John Nicholson. On page 16 it says
that Flinders was given Trim when he was imprisoned on
Mauritius, when he had the cat before he got to
Mauritius!
Rap Point 2b Which method of presentation was the most
effective way for YOU to communicate information about
Matthew Finder’s life? Why?
We did a timeline which went down the page, like the
one on the State Library Flinders website. It was easy
to type on the computer this way. Our audience of Year
2 kids would probably be able to understand it quite
well.
One group wrote a short biography of just a few
sentences which they published just as writing. It
would be a good biography for Year 3 or 2 to read by
themselves.
We look forward to rapping with you again next week.
From,
