Mrs Millie likes to grow flowers, painting them & going in the flower show.
She is worried about what Mrs Compost said about her flowers. It made her so upset she wouldn't go in the flower show.
When she was a little girl she played in a beautiful garden. Now she is older she can't play in her garden because she lives in a flat. Instead, she paints flowers and they come to life. The flowers she collected on her adventure, won the flower show. This made nasty Mrs Compost very, very jealous.
We think Mrs Millie is a very adventurous nice old lady. She is a kind, happy and joyful artist.

Our letter to Mrs Millie
Dear Mrs Millie,
We are 3M at Whalan P S. We just read the book Mrs Millie's Painting which is all about you and your paintings. Did you know that Matt Ottley wrote a book about you? We enjoyed the story and we thought your paintings were creative and very colourful.
You are very kind to Socrates & you look after your flowers very carefully. How old are you, and we were wondering where is your husband?
Where do you live? Do you live in NSW like we do? Do you like your flat and the area that you live in?
Did the painting really come to life?? and did you really go on an adventure??
Was the river cold when you went swimming with no clothes on? Was Socrates laughing at you?
How many years have you been going in the flower contest? What type of flowers did you use in the contest? We though they were really interesting. Were you excited when you won & what did you win? What is your favourite flower?
We really enjoyed the book, the colours & type of flowers were very beautiful & imaginative.
