Hi everyone, this is Rick from Cherrybrook Technology High School, I'm from Taiwan. I'm working on rap point 2, because we have 6 people in one group, so i'm only doing Minh's question, each person has different task to do.... I hope all of you people can understand my points..... and good luck on studying the book of "Only The Heart". Looking forward to receive your reply.....
Activity:
1. I think Minh is tense when he tries to escape Vietnam. He's also sad and anxious.
2. Reasons for these feelings: Because he's leaving his country and he's also afraid of being caught in the sea...... And last, he doesn't know what is ahead of him, he doesn't know where he's heading to.......
3. Minh feels tense while he's trying to escape, becuase he knows exactly what is the consequence going to be if he gets caught, he will receive a heavy punishment by the government. Whereas if a child is in this type of situation, he'll probably feel quite exciting, because it's like a kind of new adventure for him..... He won't know the consequence. So perspective is influenced by person's age........
4. The feature of the language: The language is written in third person, and descriptive. The author Brian Caswell used heaps of descriptive words in this book.
eg. He hears the lap and hiss of the tiny ripples against the waterlogged wood of the hull, and he smells the sea turning.
