othello_rap Introduction and Rap Point 1 from Plumpton HS

Greetings and salutations,

We are one of the Advanced English classes at Plumpton High. We're a large comprehensive western suburbs high school.

This is our first Shakespearean play at the senior level and as a group we have mixed expectations. We have just started studying Othello and hope to achieve a better understanding of Shakespeare, and to communicate and compare ideas with other schools through the use of technology in the classroom.

Here is our response to RAP POINT 1:

Today Othello arrived in Cyprus after being largely anticipated. I admire that man, not only has Othello led many, including myself but he now has appointed me his lieutenant over Iago. Othello not only impresses me with his unbiased manner but his initiative which exceeds nature's own eyes. Othello's leadership has been tested throughout his life proving his expertise. Othello's ability is hard to imagine and also picture but as I have seen he is one of the greatest. The man known to myself and others has shown us his dedication to his beautiful wife Desdemona. The man is known as
one of the country's strongest war personality and i can vouch for this. Othello has shown how he handles racism due to his colour with the help of his wife. Why shall he have to put up with his father in law. Although i do appreciate Babrantio's courage. I am honoured to have Othello as my leader and friend. I aim to be like him.
Cassio

We have just started the play.
Thanks

Looking forward to reading your messages,
