othello_rap Response and Rap point 2

Dear Othello Rappers
It is wonderful to see more schools joining the Rap. You may not have had
time yet to respond to Rap point 1. Please feel free to do so when you can.
I am posting Rap point 2 for those who would like to move on to the next
stage of the discussion. If your group would like to link the ideas of Rap
point 1 and point 2 in your response that will be fine.
Students from Gilgandra High have sent a very well conceived response in the
form of a diary entry by Desdemona. It certainly captures the feelings we
would expect Desdemona to have at this stage. It also presents many ironies
that become obvious later in the play. Unfortunately some people may have
difficulty downloading this attachment. Due to the problem with downloading
please send comments in the regular email format so they are readily
accessible.
Also students from Gosford High and Plumpton High have created very
commendable responses in Cassio’s voice. All of these are well worth
reading.
Fellow Rappers may like to comment on any of these responses. If you are
ready to move on, here is Rap point 2.

Rap point 2
Term 3, Week 4: week beginning 13th August 2001

In what ways do you see Othello fitting, or not fitting, the role of a
Shakespearean tragic hero? How have you come to these conclusions?
Please remember to send your comments, insights and ideas related to Rap
point 2 to othello_teachrap@list.schools.nsw.edu.au

We are looking forward to sharing your perceptions.
Cathy Sly – Othello Rap Coordinator
