papunya_rap introducing papunya rap

Dear Rappers

Welcome to the Papunya School Book of Country and History!

My name is Vicki Douglass and I currently teach at Blacktown West Public School which is approximately 30 kms west of Sydney  in Dharug Country. I will be your co-ordinator for this rap and I'm looking forward to assisting you and reading your responses each week during the rap.

This rap is a wonderful opportunity to share with each other our responses to the up-coming rap points.

To commence our book rap could you please post an introductory message for your class, including your school name, its location and any special features or information that would be of interest to other rappers.  You might include the name of the Aboriginal Country where your school is located. If you are unsure of your Aboriginal Country, the map of Aboriginal Languages of NSW may assist you and this can be downloaded from the rap map link. You might also like to track on this map where other rappers are located and display this in your classroom throughout the rap.

When posting your introductory message please remember to write your school's name in the subject line- e.g. introducing <school name>

Send all of your rap messages to :

I look forward to hearing from you!

Happy rapping!

Vicki Douglass
