Thread-Topic: introduction Homebush West Public School 6/5T
Dear Book Rappers,
We are a class called 6/5T at Homebush West Public School. Our school is a small school, 15km west of Sydney, near the suburb of Flemington. It is in the inner west, near to where the Olympic games were held.
Our class is part of stage three; this means that we are a composite class of grade 5 and 6 students. Our teacher’s name is Miss Trifonov. At Homebush West we learn many things for example, State Government in H.S.I.E and air in Science and Technology. We all know how to play the recorder. Year 5 is learning about friendships and Year 6 get to have buddies from Kindergarten for PDHPE.
We are all excited to read the Papunya School Book of Country and History. It looks like a very interesting book. What do you think? Have you ever participated in a book rap before? This is our first time so we can’t wait to see what it’s all about. What is your school like? What sort of things do you learn?
Some of our favourite authors are Roald Dahl, Paul Jennings, Duncan Ball and Nette Hilton, Enid Blyton, Dav Pilkey, Emily Rodda. Who are your favourite authors?
We can’t wait to start communicating with you, it will be great to know how other classes feel about the book and to discuss all sorts of interesting things.
