Dear Rappers.
After reading Papunya school book and talking about it, we felt
that the Anangu treated nagurra (land) with care and respect. They saw the
land as part of themselves and they a part of it. The land was an
important part of their culture and their herritage. The Anangu only used
what they needed. They had a lot of knowledge about the land. The Anangu
learnt how to use and understand the land from Tjukura yara
(Dreamtime stories) and from the elders.
The Tjukura only saw the land as a way to support their farms and towns. They
thought that the Anangu wasted the land because no one farmed or fenced
it.They did not understand the land and how thier cattle and farming would
ruin it.The Tjukura thought no one owned the land because the Anangu had no
paper to say they did.The Tjkura used more than they needed and did not show
any care or respect for the land.
