Hi Rappers. We have put a huge Aboriginal language map up at the entrance to our Library and everytime we find a different group we add it to the map. So far we have found rappers in six different areas. Yuggera seems to be the furtherest away from us here in Orange. We have enjoyed reading all your emails and find the book is really good. One of the good things is that in our rap group here we all come from different places ourselves although we all have Aboriginal ancestors. One of us has a grandfather who was German and another one has an uncle (Herman) who was German too. So as we are reading the book we are all sharing our family stories. If only when the Tjulkura first came we were all able to understand each other and know how important water soaks, the plants and the soil was to Anungu. When the cattle would drink all the soaks dry and trample the bush tucker Anungu had to move into other areas and they probably had a hard time try!
ing to understand the people in these places too. Crossing Australia from Adelaide to Darwin would have been a lot easier too if Anungu could have helped but they just did not understand each other. We hope that by doing this rap that we can all understand each other a little bit more. The Bookrappers United
