Rap point 1

How did the Anangu and the Tjulkurra see and use the land differently?

The Anangu and Tjulkurra both had very different views of the land. For example, to the Anangu people, the land belonged to the ancestors and to the Tjulkurra, the land was just dirt to build on. The Anangu treated the land wityh respect but the Tjulkurra brought war and strange animals that ruined the land. The Tjulkurra would use all the water in one day from t he waterholes; they would destroy the trees and make roads and paths in the way of the bush. The Anangu people lived in balance with the land, they never used everything up and would and be gentle with the land. They saw it as a spiritual and dreamtime land, which belonged to everyone. The Tjulkurra was trying to section the land and they gave out leases to keep everyone in a certain area.
