papunya_rap Rap Point 2

Hello Rappers

The Anangu faced many changes to their way of life. The planes, they thought
were devils in the air. The missionaries, they thought were ghosts. The new
animals were strange to them. They tried to challenge the Tjulkura but were
unable to drive them away or be victorious. The police stole their children.
The police, soldiers or cattlemen shot them dead. New diseases were spread.
Their health suffered. They faced starvation. The overwhelming power of the
Tjulkura forced them from their land. To survive they had to take refuge at
the Mission Station. They lost precious land. Sacred sites were destroyed.
Water and bush tucker became scarcer. Their population declined rapidly.
Families were split up when the children were stolen. Their lives became
terrifying.
