papunya_rap Cowandilla Rap point 2

The white people brought new diseases that affected the aboriginal people badly because their immune system was not used to these sort of diseases. Because the cattle had ruined all the bush tucker and drank all most all the water, there was a severe drought. In the 1920's, the Anangu people started to go to Hermannsburg misson for food. Further on all the people began to get scurvy.

The mission for food ordered 130 cases of oranges, then the people started to get better. As the new year began, rain fell and the bush tucker and water returned so all the people at the camps went back to their home lands and became healthy again.
