Dear possum-rappers
We are K/1 Blue and 1 Lime from Richmond North Public School. Our teachers are Mrs Smith and Mrs Wallace and our teacher librarian is Mrs Robertson. We are all working together on this book rap, and are all doing it for the first time.
We think our school is great. The teachers and kids are friendly, we have lovely school grounds with play equipment, picnic tables and gum trees with native birds (even a butcher bird who leaves us alone if we leave her alone).
Our class rooms are airconditioned which is good because we have very hot summer afternoons and very cold winter mornings. Our classroom has a fish named Titus.
We have enjoyed reading the email from other rappers and finding out about your schools.
North Richmond is near the Hawkesbury River, the Blue Mountains and RAAF Base Richmond, where some of our parents work. We often hear Hercules aeroplanes flying overhead. Poor old Hawkesbury River is usually very beautiful, but is covered with weed at present. A special muncher-boat is working there to clean it up. You might have seen it on the news or in the paper.
Some of our famous ex-students are Mark Schwarzer who plays soccer and is goalkeeper for Middlesborough, and Rachel Stevens who is a news reader on the radio.
We love the story Possum Magic and would like to try being invisible. We loved the part where the koala sat on Hush's tail. Ouch!
Best wishes from K/1 Blue and 1 Lime and the teachers
