possummagic07_rap Introducing class 2/1B from Manly Village Public School

Our school is Manly Village Public in Manly, a ferry ride from the city of Sydney. We are very lucky to live on the coast in a place that is known world wide for its wonderful beach. Our school is only 50 metres from the beach. We go there for our cross country and beach carnival. We have about 430 students in 18 classes. Our school is very old. It was built in 1858.
We are a composite 2/1 class with 11 students in year 1 and 14 students in year 2. This is a special extension class. We can see the ocean from our window as we are on the first floor and on hot days we can feel the sea breeze. We love reading books. We have lots of indoor plants in our room.
Our favourite sports are soccer, swimming, Eagle Tag. Many kids at our school do Nippers which is where we learn to be life-savers. This is really important as we spend lots of time swimming at the beach. We have a special gymnastics program at our school too.
We are very excited to be taking part in the book rap. This is the first time our school has participated.
