possummagic07_rap Introducing ESL students at Penrith Public School

Hello Possums,

We are four Stage 3 students from Penrith Public School in Sydney, NSW. We have only been attending this school since late 2006 and have lived in Australia for about six months. Three of us speak Dari, a language from Afghanistan and the other speaks Mandarin, from China. Mrs Bradley is our ESL teacher, who is helping us to learn to speak English. Our teacher-librarian is Mr McLean.

In our home classes, we are studying Australia's Identity and Values for HSIE. Since we have limited knowledge of Australia, we thought that looking at "Possum Magic" would be a good introduction.

We look forward to learning and sharing ideas with you through the rap responses.

Your new Australian friends at Penrith PS.
