Hello Possum Magic Rappers
What a wonderful job you all did sending your rap introductions! The response has been overwhelming with over 30 classes / schools from across Australia (city and country N.S.W., Western Australia, Queensland and the A.C.T.) participating in this very special book rap! It’s been so exciting reading about your different schools’ locations, sizes and special features. It's interesting to discover how similar or different some schools are! I'm sure some of you have had great fun locating the various schools on your rap maps!
If you haven't yet posted your introductory e-mail, it's not too late! We'd love to read about your class and have you join us on this thrilling Possum Magic adventure! Just post your introduction whenever you get the time.
Reading all of the book rap e-mails can be an enormous job, because of the large number of classes taking part. Your class / group may wish to select about 5 schools or particular classes to focus on, for the remainder of the book rap.
Now that we've introduced ourselves, it's time to tackle the first rap point!
Rap point 1 Term 2, Week 3: week beginning 7 May 2007
Grandma Poss made bush magic.
She made wombats blue
and kookaburras pink.
She made dingos smile
and emus shrink.
a) What other bush magic do you think Grandma Poss could perform? Create a verse that describes Grandma Poss’ magical powers. Use Mem Fox’s writing style to help you. For example:
She made goannas fly
and bilbies frown.
She made wallabies swim
and cockatoos brown.
But the best magic of all was the magic that made Hush INVISIBLE.
What adventures Hush had!
b) Invent two or three other enjoyable adventures for Hush whilst she was invisible. For example:
Because she couldn’t be seen she could tickle old wombat.
Post a class response to the rap at:

(eg. Rap Point 1 from Class 2A Caddies Creek PS)
Your class might wish to respond to the comments from other rappers via the rap.
I look forward to reading your fantastic Rap Point 1 responses!
Happy rapping little possums!
