Hello Possums!
Here's our response to Rap Point 2:
After eating steak and salad near the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Hush and Grandma Poss rode on their bicycle to Circular Quay Station to catch a train to Penrith, in western Sydney. Grandma Poss bought two tickets, one for her and one for the bike. Hush was still invisible. Because she couldn’t be seen, she didn’t need a ticket!
They had a great train ride. Grandma Poss kept Hush on her lap so she wouldn’t disturb the other passengers. The train driver drove the train through many different stations, for over an hour, until the train arrived at Penrith railway station.
The possums rode their bike to Stafford Street, where they smelled wonderful things cooking. They saw a Chinese takeaway food shop. It had a red roof and a sign with a big prawn on it.
Grandma Poss sent invisible Hush into the shop. She climbed over the counter. Hush picked up a tray and filled it with noodles, fish dumplings, omelettes, fried rice, teriyaki chicken, honey soy pork, crispy prawn crackers, green tea jelly and crunchy fortune cookies.
The workers in the shop screamed when they saw a tray of food floating by itself. They hid under the table. The customers waiting for their food orders hid their faces behind their magazines.
Hush brought the tray of food outside and across the road to a children’s play area. They sat on a piece of play equipment that had two metal poles and a round section. It worked a bit like a swing, a seesaw and a razzle-dazzle, and it moved up and down very quickly. The possums ate their Chinese takeaway while they sat on the equipment. As it spun around, they held on tight. Everything went blurry.
Suddenly, Hush’s bottom turned visible!
"Hooray!" they shouted.
Soon Grandma Poss and Hush were back on their bike. They pedalled through Emu Plains until they reached a town called Glenbrook. As they passed Glenbrook Public School, the road started to get too steep for the bike. They stopped at a service station and bought some apple and blackcurrant Pop-Top drinks because they were so thirsty.
Grandma Poss held out her paw to hail a taxi. They loaded the bicycle onto the back of the taxi and said to the driver, “To the Blue Mountains, please!”
