Dear Rappers
We loved the book, 'Jeffrey'. Kirsty liked the book because it was funny. Jesse enjoyed the book because he likes books about dogs. Katie and Mr Wynn loved the book because of the nice, bright pictures. Our favourite picture was the one with the animals mixed up. It made us giggle. But most of all we liked the book because it had a happy ending because they found a solution to Jeffrey's problem.
The book made most of us feel happy and wonderful. James was excited for Jeffrey and Jacinda felt sympathy for Jeffrey at the start. The book made Katie feel safe because she does the same things as in the book to be safe.
Here are the words that we think Jeffrey felt at the beginning of the story: sad, emotional, unsafe, scared, lonely, left out, muddled up,dissapointed
but
at the end of the story Jeffrey would have felt:
Happy, excited, glad, cheerful, relieved, wonderful, surprised, joyful, included, grateful,
Margaret Wild probably wrote this story to teach kids about road safety. It will help to keep us all safe by putting the ideas into our heads. It also reminds people to care for their animals.
The information in the story that can help readers be safer include:
Remember to put your seatbelts on!
Singing songs to remember safety messages
Get a grown up to help you if you need help
Sit in the right seat for you
If there is not a seatbelt don't go!
When walking,walk on the path
Hold a grownups hand to walk and cross
Sit and be sensible on the bus
Wear a helmet and safety pads when rollerblading, skateboarding and bike riding.
Play in the right places like in the park or your own backyard.
Make sure the adults are supervising you properly.
Ride in the right spots- don't bump into people
Ride bikes that are the correct size for you.
Make sure that your animals are safe in the car.
We found fourteen messages. How many did you find?
Year 2/3 have a question........ What is the rules about dogs in cars? Do they need a harness? Are they supposed to be tied up?
We can't wait until next Wednesday to do more work on this Book Rap!
See you
