Hi there Rabbits Rappers,
A big welcome to all the schools that have joined us
for the Rabbits Rap.
My name is Lee Cutler and I am the Teacher Librarian
at Macintyre High School, a school of 500 students in
Inverell in northern NSW. During the Rabbits rap two
teachers from Macintyre will also be involved, Di
Veersema and Judy Noad. We will be happy to assist
you during your involvement in this Rap and look
forward to reading your responses.
We are keen to meet all our fellow Rabbits Rappers, so
as soon as you can this week (beginning Monday 26th
July), construct a group Introduction and send it, and
all subsequent student messages to this email address:
therabbits04_rap@list.schools.nsw.edu.au
In the subject box, please type a relevant heading
such as: "Introducing..."
(e.g Introducing Yr 9 Macintyre High). Similarly, with
any other future Student Rap messages, please ensure
that you use the subject box to show which rap point
response you are posting. Have your Rap Maps ready,
and record where other rappers live as they introduce
themselves. If possible, try to check your emails
every day, during the rap.
In your introduction please include:
the name of your school
your town or city
any information about your location or your group that
would interest other rappers
any initial reactions to the text.
Please send one message on behalf of your class this
week.
Great news, Shaun Tan will be joining us for Rap point
3. It will be wonderful to be able to ask Shaun some
questions. More about that later.
Teachers, if you haven’t already done so, it would be
a good idea to subscribe to the TeacherRap through the
School Libraries: Empowering Learning website. This
will ensure you can participate in the background
discussion and enjoy the support that will be
available for you throughout the rap.
I'm looking forward to reading your introductions and
discovering more about you and your schools.
Happy rapping!
Lee Cutler
