We are 8H, couldn’t be prouder! We won’t shout any louder though as we’re
already much too loud. Year 8H, St Mary’s Central School Wellington. Sounds
like a normal class. Almost looks like a normal class. But really the most
unique and interesting class in the school, probably the world.
Wellington is located in the Central West of NSW, halfway between Dubbo and
Orange and is home to approximately 10 000 people. St Mary’s is a small
school with around 350 people. In our class, the girls rule over the boys
with 11 girls and a measly 5 boys. We are a very talented bunch, with a
world-class soccer star, many aspiring actresses, singers that, if they were
old enough, would blitz Aussie Idol, a sprinter who could outrun a cheetah,
a heap of netballers that could give the Australian team a run for their
money, and, of course, our kind-hearted citizens in the second row who keep
the rest of us from killing each other in World War 3.
We love a joke, and spend much of our time laughing until our faces turn a
lovely shade of magenta! Other school and world famous attributes include;
the record for the highest number of detentions in a term, (it was last
year! We’re now all perfect little angels … most of the time ;-)) two
obsessed Michael Jackson fans, one sad Blue Heelers fanatic and the traitors
who watch CSI instead! (Yes, that was Muffy!)
We’re also a very bright bunch, and we often outsmart our teachers. Our
persuasive techniques are also very good. (You are feeling sleepy, VERY
sleepy!)(MUFFY!) ‘The Rabbits’ is a rather odd book, and WE are certainly a
collection of oddities! So, from our Michael fans, to our netballers, and
our sprinters to our Drama Queens, We are 8H, and you won’t forget us in a
hurry.
