therabbits04_rap Rap point 2 - Richmond River High Group B

WE chose the "sheep pages" ..."They brought new food"...because they catch your eye. They are some of the few pages with colour !But we also noted the insert on the left hand page which is dull and depressing in contrast.

One of the most eye catching elements is the colour - The rest of the book is dull and gloomy  but here the bright colours represent
cheerfulness because the animals are excited by the  new life  (food, animals) that  the invaders have brought with them.

On the other hand, the insert is darker and sad looking suggestion that events have moved on to a less happy outcome..The natives have discovered that everything is not going as expected. This insert adds a whole new feel to the page. The colours here bring out the natives emrging fears about the invaders and the way thier new found " friends" have changed things. There is no gright green grass here - only desolation and death - even pollution.

The placement of this insert on the far right hand side  leads they eye to the events of horror and destruction to come. It leads the reader away from feelings of fun and excitement to doom and gloom - with mre to come!
In the " bright "section  there are images of wealth , order and signs that things are going well - for instance the symbols at the back  are of bottles stored and other things stacked. In the insert there are empty bottles lying on the bare ground and dead fish  all over the place  -
The pages are an interesting combination of happiness and desolation
