therabbits04_rap Bob Percival - Aboriginal Studies Team

Hi there fellow rappers,

Sorry for arriving so late in the rap but I have only just come back from Sweden (very hot and definitely lots of rabbits).

My name is Bob Percival and I work in the Aboriginal Studies Team of the Education Department. The rabbits, is one of my favourite books not only for its incredible illustrations but also for the powerful messages that are being sent in the text.

Some people see the book as an allegory of the experience of Aboriginal people in the years of occupation by European settlement. This may or may not be the case but for me there seems a strong link in the story being told.

If any of you rappers would like to discuss this possible meaning of the text please send a message to to the rap and we would only be too happy to discuss the comparisons.

If you would like to ask questions about Aboriginal perspectives of the book please put ‘Question for Bob Percival’ in the Subject line.

Great to say hello, and hope to hear from you soon,

cheers

Bob
