Rap Reflection, from Jesse and Sammy, Macrappers group 69 (some of our members have disappeared in suspicious circumstances!)
During the course of this book rap, we have both enjoyed ourselves immensely
sending e-mails
to the other schools, and working together, combining our ideas and opinions to create our responses.
Sammy has learnt how to pick out details
from pictures and discover the relevance and hidden meanings
of even the smallest part of a scene.
Jesse (that’s me) has learnt how to use other people’s ideas to improve and enrich my own opinions.
We both think that the best part of the rap was reading the book and writing and sending e-mails. We would be interested in another bookrap because it was fun
to work together and read the book.
From participating in this bookrap we have learnt more about vectors and positioning, and how both of these affect the readers response
and the way it is read
.
Sammy’s feelings about the book ‘The Rabbits’ are that the book is a good picture book, although the rabbits themselves are a bit scary
.
As for myself, the first time that I read the book several months ago I did not like it much, but now that I have had further views of the book and have seen how it’s message is expressed, I think it is, as Sammy said, a good
picture book. I do agree with her in that the rabbits are rather scary, and I am not sure whether young children would appreciate it. However, it is after all a ‘grown-ups’ picture book.
The bookrap met and exceeded both of our expectations, because we both thought that it would be kind of boring
, but have since discovered that it was instead rather fun
.
To conclude, Sammy liked the way all the groups combined together and swapped ideas, and I liked the chance to communicate over the Internet with other schools.
See you all later,
Jesse
and Sammy
