therabbits04_rap reflection

Hi from Jessica, Tasara, Earl and Callen.

We have learnt about visual literacy, looking at pictures differently and understanding the story without reading it. We learnt to look at the whole picture, and not just to focus on the small parts. We learnt about how invaders colonise and take over countries, and how wars can escalate.

We liked doing the different activities and learning that pictures have multiple meanings. Its challenging and teaches you to look at pictures differently, and use visual terms.

'The Rabbits' was a great book because of the detailed, symbolic illustrations, and how the book cleverly represented what happened in Australia when the English came to conquer the country.

Doing the book rap was an extremely enjoyable experience, and it gave us an opportunity to do something different. We would do it again, but we would like to have more contact with other students from other schools.  Thank you for this great opportunity.
