whalerider05_rap Paike and boat launch- Ryan

The filmic techniques included various camera angles and shots, types of
lighting, sound and symbols. The impact of the boat launch and traditional
dancers emphasised unity and culture. The mid shot of Koro and Paikea
emphasised unity and forgiveness. The bright sunshine for the boat launch
shows that all the problems had been cleared up and the future loooks good
for the Maori people.

The sound effects of Paikea's singing and voice over used for this scene
meant leadership. Symbolism effects used were flowers to show celebrations
for finding the leader, tattoos that represented the culture and the whale
tooth around Paikea's neck which shows that she is now the leader of the
tribe.
