whalerider05_rap rap point 2

Hi, I’m Mashal from Parramatta High school and I’m interested in rap music and rnb and this is my response about scene 16 of “Whalerider”.

Scene sixteen has an impact on me because there were many powerful frames\shots.  For eg. Hemi’s father had left him and was badly influenced by his friends, but at the end he comes back and Hemi is happy. {We see this through the close-up of Hemi which  shows Hemi’s happy and proud expression, it highlights it.}.

Another one is Paikea, when she finally gets accepted as the leader at the end of the movie. As earlier in the movie Paikea’s Grandfather didn’t want her and says “She’s no use to us”.  However Paikea did so many good things to show she was a leader and was finally named the Whalerider and was accepted. The frame that shows us that she is accepted as a leader is at the end when she is sitting next to her grandpa on the boat and singing, it shows Paikea’s self discoverey and were the bonds were broken.
