Dear
Rappers
Our rap
for this term focusing on Worst best friends
begins this week, the 15th May, so it is time to jointly construct
and submit your group introduction. I am sure that you will be entertained by
the very popular video/DVD Worst best
friends. In the raps we will use Worst
best friends to explore childhood friendships, bullying, families
and film techniques. I am looking forward to meeting you all online and reading
your responses to the rap points.
I am
teacher-librarian, assistant principal and English coordinator at Mona Vale Primary School on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. I have a
keen interest in the development of quality media for Australian children and I
enjoy being a NSW representative on the Advisory Panel for the Australian
Children’s Television Foundation because they make such great programs for
kids. It will be fun to be your coordinator for the rap.
When
you are sending your introductory message, please type in the subject “Introducing…”
with your school name and send your message to:
worstbestfriend06_rap@list.schools.nsw.edu.au
Remember
that the signature at the end of the message will be the class name or the
first name of the students who are representing the class.
Have
your rap maps ready and record where the other rappers live as they introduce
themselves. If possible check your emails daily.
Could
the teachers, if you have not already done so, please subscribe to the
teacher-rap so that you can share your experiences, receive support if it is
required, and contribute to any class discussion?
I look
forward to hearing from you and sharing your responses to the rap points over
the next few weeks.
Happy
rapping
Charmayne
Hodgman (Rap coordinator)
