4B feels that Millicent helped Dusting for the following reasons -
Millicent wanted to show Thesaurus just how poor Dusting was, hoping that it may change Thesaurus's opinion of him. (she wanted to be his only friend - doesn't like sharing)
She helped Dusting in order to impress the other children and teachers at school
Millicent helped Dusting because her offer to help was rejected by the older lady
She may feel it is her duty to help because she has more money than Dusting.
Millicent helped Dusting in order to impress those around her (teachers and the other girls) and so therefore 4B feels that not all her intentions were good. An example of this is her wanting to show how poor Dusting was in order to
become better friends with Thesaurus. 4B felt this was quite a mean gesture, but did agree that she was, on the whole, a helpful person.
