worstbestfriend06_rap Rap up 2

Dear Rappers,

We found that were divided in our opinions about Thesaurus’s ideas on friendship. We firstly defined what we thought friendship meant. We then compared this to the different relationships between the characters. We all agreed that Eddie was never going to have friends as he never displayed the qualities that we felt were important to have if you wanted to be someone’s friend. These include: being kind helpful, honest, love, care, respect, patience, not insulting your friend, being gentle, showing integrity, keeping secrets safe, trusting, supportive, defending your friend, thoughtful, sharing.

Eddie was being a bully and no-one likes to play with a bully. He displayed disgusting behaviour like when he ate Gilbert’s bugs on the sandwich. He thought that the only way to keep a friend was to always cause a fight or misbehave and people would admire him for his strength- WRONG!

Friends may not always agree, however there will always be a common understanding and respect of each other’s differences. We believe that Roger did not have a good understanding of what equal friendship was as he was always taking orders from Millicent and accepted Dusting’s decision making. Both of these characters (Millicent and Dusting) displayed these qualities and had a common affection for Roger, they both therefore must share a strange type of friendship between each other.

In summary, we believe that friendship is a learned quality. There must be equal players. There are however many different types of friendships many of which are difficult to understand.

Until we all meet again, thanks for rapping with us,

The Goldzillas, Miss H., and Mrs Gough
