Dear Rap,
Interestingly, 4T have a few people that disagree with Aunt Ivy's statement that "interest is the string that ties families together." Patricia, Charley, Jamie and Miles disagree - Patricia says it is love that is the common bond, and Jamie says families can have different interests but remain a family.
Nick made the point that when family members spend time with each other, they develop better relationships. Similarly, James believes that when you spend time with others you get to know their likes and dislikes and Emily thinks this also leads to sharing of ideas and interests.
Rapping up, Lauren made the point that spending time as a family really brought people together.
