A core value of education in NSW government schools is that all students can improve in their learning with appropriate support.

Schools have a range of supports to meet the needs of all students. These include conflict resolution, mentoring, values education, counselling and talking with parents. School counsellors, support teachers behaviour, home school liaison officers and student welfare and disability program consultants are also available to support schools working with troubled students.

If, despite these measures, behaviour still does not improve, a student may be referred to learning environments separate to mainstream classrooms which provide intensive support.

Contact your local Department of Education and Training regional office for more information about support for students with disruptive behaviour in your region.
