Holiday Reading is Rad

Priority Schools Funding Program primary schools have until 20 September to nominate for the Holiday Reading is Rad project which runs over the 2004-5 summer holidays

Holiday Reading is Rad

The aim of the Holiday Reading is Rad project is to encourage adults and family members to read with their children each day of the holidays to prevent summer fall-off in reading skills.

The program was highly successful in 2003-4 with over 14,000 students participating across the state. The recently published evaluation report showed that 91 per cent of participating students maintained or improved their reading over the 2003-4 school holidays.

Students participating in Holiday Reading is Rad receive free kits that include magazines, a reading diary, bookmarks and stickers
