Austudy

Students aged 25 or over studying an approved full-time course may be eligible to receive the Austudy payment. An example of this is Mature Age Students undertaking their education at a NSW Public School.

Austudy can help students by providing money for living expenses, accommodation expenses (rent, boarding fees, residential costs), education expenses (school fees, books and equipment, incidentals), fares (travel to study each term/semester when away from home), prescription medicines or personal loans.

To receive the allowance a number of requirements need to be met. Payment may be based on personal income, personal assets and, if applicable, partner's income. Application forms and further information can be obtained from Centrelink offices.
