The Canteen Menu Planning Guide offers a new way of designing school canteen menus, and aims to make the job of designing a healthy menu easier.

The guide provides information about the nutritional value of foods and selecting the best choices. It outlines the nutrient criteria for identifying foods that need to be restricted in their sale.

Two copies of the guide have been forwarded to all schools across NSW and extra copies can be downloaded in PDF format (1MB), or purchased from the Healthy Kids Association.

To help schools communicate the message about healthy canteens, presentations with scripts and overheads are available to download.
