What's On

Enviro Inspiro! 2012 is open. The NSW SRC invites students in NSW public schools to create a 5 minute media presentation and a 2 page written report to showcase their successful student-led environmental projects. Schools and student teams can win one of three major 'prizes' valued up to $3,000.

Director-General for a Day
Wednesday 1 August 2012

Director-General for a Day provides opportunities for secondary students to learn about the challenges and satisfactions of working in senior management in the department and allows students to find out how educational policy relates to schools.

Schools are invited to seek expressions of interest from students in Year 9, 10 or 11. Two candidates (one male and one female) become Director-General for a Day and other students take on positions such as Deputy Director-General (Schools) for a Day, General Manager for a Day or Director for a Day. In regions, students may become Regional Directors or School Education Directors for a Day. Schools can find out more on the department's Education Week intranet site

Cultural Exchange Programs in Schools

Exchange programs enable students from diverse backgrounds to team up and experience new cultures and lifestyles. The 2007 NSW SRC worked with staff from the NSW Department of Education's Multicultural Programs Unit to create this brochure (PDF 296kB) to support the NSW Cultural Exchange Programs in Schools.
