browsers
One
of the main problems with developing a web site is that the various
programs that display pages on the Internet (web browsers) each render
pages in a slightly different manner.
While
developing the pages in a table lessens this effect, it is important
to ensure that the completed web site is viewed using major browsers
such as Netscape and Internet Explorer on both Macintosh and Windows
- based platforms.
If
possible, it is also a good idea to view the web site using different
versions of both browsers. Different versions of Netscape and Internet
Explorer also render the pages in a slightly different manner, and
not all versions support advanced features such as Javascript, Flash
and Java.
If
there are any problems, try to reconstruct the page within a table
and then preview the completed work. Hopefully the problem will be
solved.
Remember
that the competition web site must work on Netscape and Internet Explorer
so thorough testing of the site will enable it to be used effectively
by the widest possible audience.
